The wise man built his house upon the rock

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t been writing as much as usual. Its been an adventure for the past couple weeks and it just continues. Like said a little ago I started having some bad headaches. Well it turns out that stress is not an issue but the two impacted wisdom teeth chillin in my mouth. Its been a struggle but your guys’ prayers have definitely been a blessing and have helped to carry me on! Please keep them coming I will definitely need them. But enough about me.
Just a little over a week ago some super solid investigators got baptized. Tom and Gavin are super solid and they just keep on progressing! Yesterday I was privileged to ordain Tom to the Aaronic priesthood and then see him able to turn around and stand in the circle for his son the receive the priesthood as well! It was so powerful and the spirit was definitely there. I can’t wait to see the blessings and miracles that continue to help them along in their conversion.
This week we saw a lot of miracles coming in from the new Easter video that the Church put out the one that I shared last week #Hallelujah. Its a great video and if you haven’t checked it out yet I strongly encourage it. But we have had a good turn out of referrals that have not all turned out solid but have a lot of promise to them. We have a pretty good teaching pool and I am excited to see how these guys progress.
This week for the spiritual message it might be kinda obvious that wisdom has been on my mind. In 2nd Nephi 9: 28 says “O that cunning plan of the evil one! O the vainness, and the frailties, and the foolishness of men! When they are learned they think they are wise, and they hearken not unto the counsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves, wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness and it profiteth them not. And they shall perish.” When we take and think that due to our knowledge and learning we are able to walk our path without God we perish. But the next verse says, “But to be learned is good if they hearken unto the counsels of God.”
When we use our learning and knowledge to follow and push forward the kingdom then it is good. and then we get this promise in Helaman 5:12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall. Love you guys and hope you have a stellar week!  ” But, behold, the righteous, the saints‍ of the Holy One of Israel, they who have believed in the Holy One of Israel, they who have endured the crosses‍ of the world, and despised the shame of it, they shall inherit‍ the kingdom‍ of God, which was prepared for them from‍ the foundation of the world, and their joy‍ shall be full forever. ”                    2nd Nephi 9:18

Hello

Hey guys not a lot to say this week. Just getting settled in the new area and Having a party. this week I will just leave a scripture with yall you can ponder and if you want I will still be on for awhile and you can tell me what you think if you want. Enos 1:5  5 And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed. 6 And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away. 7 And I said: Lord, how is it done? 8 And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And manyyears pass away before he shall manifest himself in theflesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole. Love yall hope to hear from you. If not have a stellar week!

” But, behold, the righteous, the saints‍ of the Holy One of Israel, they who have believed in the Holy One of Israel, they who have endured the crosses‍ of the world, and despised the shame of it,they shall inherit‍ the kingdom‍ of God, which was prepared for them from‍ the foundation of the world, and their joy‍ shall be full forever. ”                    2nd Nephi 9:18

Mission Commitment

Oh Idk I think this is kinda fun but we did this a little while ago and thought I would share with yall

My Mission Commitment

I am a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been called by the Holy Priesthood of God and committed to set aside worldly endeavors, and the companionship of family and friends to serve for two years as an emissary of the Lord Jesus Christ in sharing his gospel to the people of the Oklahoma Oklahoma City Mission.

I commit to Love and Serve these people unconditionally in every way possible. I will become more mature in my conduct and more Christ like in my nature. I will become more fully devoted to my faith in the gospel and more consecrated in my service to the Lord. I will be obedient to both the rules in the White Handbook and to the directions from mission leaders. I will internalize my purpose as a missionary of helping people draw closer to Christ by helping them unlock and access the power of the Atonement through the Doctrine of Christ. I will Open My Mouth always to share my testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel of Christ.

I know that as I fulfil this vision for myself through Diligent Labor, Daily Accountability to both myself, the Lord, and others, and through The Constant Application of the Doctrine of Christ in My Own Life; I will have greater Charity, be worthy of the Companionship of the Holy Ghost, be able to Teach with Power and Authority, find Satisfaction in my labor, and Prepare myself for the Higher Callings of Husband and Father.

May the Lord bless me in this vision I pray.

City Boy

Hey howdy Yall! Things have actually been really good this week after about Thursday. for the past 6 weeks I have had some pretty severe headaches that they weren’t able to figure out. It took a large toll on me and there was a large chance of me returning home for a time. Luckily the Lord still has need for me out here. I got in to see a chiropractor and though I am not 100% yet I am able to keep on out here. Not in Seminole though unfortunately. I am getting moved to Oklahoma city. OKC 1st ward. I am actually going to be with a Spanish elder that came out with me Elder Mickelson. Don’t remember a lot about him just that he is a stud and its going to be a party! I am going to miss it here in Seminole whats going to happen is called a pink wash where they shotgun the area with sisters. So its going to be fun making sure all the info for the area is up to date and the apartment is clean…:) Anyway. This week the spiritual thought is on knowing how to navigate the passages of life. In the Book of Mormon there is a awesome passage 2nd Nephi 32: 3-5 3 Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do. 4 Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye ask not, neither do ye knock; wherefore, ye are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark. 5 For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do. This very clearly explains that the scriptures as we feast on them they tell us what to do. Not only that though but as we enter into the way (baptism and confirmation) we receive the Holy Ghost as a constant companion and we are SHOWN the way as well. Our Heavenly Father loves us and wants our happiness. He has given the tools that we can achieve that. Love all y’all so much and hope that you have a fantabulous week. Any comments questions or concerns can be emailed, or written to the new address of 6438 N. Warren Ave. Apt. 161 Oklahoma city Oklahoma 73116. Would love to hear from yall! Take care!

Who What When Where How Why

Hey Yall. Still not all too much to tell about this week. Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated and felt. Please please keep them coming. This weekend we had the fabulous opportunity to meet Elder D Todd Christopherson as he came to Tulsa for some business. There was an undeniable spirit that surrounded this special servant of the Lord and it was a fantastic conference where I got answers to questions I didn’t even know I had and answers I didn’t necessarily want but those are usually the best kind. But the main theme of his talk was on questions. All throughout the scriptures we are told that we knock and it shall be opened and ask and it shall be given to us. The key points in those statements are the verbs. It is shown that we have to make the first move. The door to revelation is there for all of us, but we need the key. That key is a question and faith. 3rd Nephi 14:7-11 says “ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 8 For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, who, if his son ask bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” I can put it no better way. Love you all And hope that you have a blessed week!

” But, behold, the righteous, the saints‍ of the Holy One of Israel, they who havebelieved in the Holy One of Israel, they who have endured the crosses‍ of the world, and despised the shame of it, they shall inherit‍ the kingdom‍ of God, which wasprepared for them from‍ the foundation of the world, and their joy‍ shall be fullforever. ”                    2nd Nephi 9:18

Pain is Weakness Leaving The Body

Hey everyone! This week was pretty rad. Though I still havent been feeling all that up to snuff we had a good week ending with the baptism of Zack and Allie Archer two of our investigators. It was a pretty awesome day. They had a lot of family there and their Grandpa got to baptize and confirm them. It was a super cool experience. They both want to go on missions when they grow up and the are both working really hard on helping their Dad get to the font as well. They are super awesome and I am super happy for them both. Other than that not much to report on. Oklahoma has decided to jump into spring early and give is some 70 degree weather which is fantastic. It is so weird to think that last year when I got here it was snowing and cold enough to make a blueberry cow. I love it. I like the winter and all but cold with no snow seems like an oxymoron and I can live without it. This week has been a lot of thinking and pondering on why certain things are going on and what is the Lord trying to teach me through it all. Then yesterday we had a lesson on adversity. It seemed like the main focus of it all was as we go through trials they are to 1 make us humble and 2 help us to become stronger. The Lord knows what we are able to endure and what we can handle and hes not going to give anymore than we can handle without his help. Growth requires pain but Pain can be eased as we turn to the one that has gone through it before Alma 7:11-12 “and he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. 12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.” Christ has been where each of us are before. he has suffered more than any of us and that because He loves us and wants to be able to help us as we go through this life. I love you. Jesus loves you and hope that you have a great week.
