Timing is everything

Hey everyone. Not much to report for this week. So I will leave you with a scripture that has been on my mind this week and hope that it has a little meaning for yall. Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” There is a purpose to everything that happens we may not know it but He does and that is where faith is essential. I love all yall and hope that you have a fantastic week.

Half Way there and Living on a Prayer

Hey howdy Yall! Wouldn’t you know it there is only 52 more of these weekly emails left. Thats crazy! In just 3 more days I hit One Year out here in the great state of Oklahoma! I love it so much here I hope that time passes slower so I can enjoy it more! But maybe its just making the time count. This week I don’t have too much to report on I have been kicked in the butt by some pressure headaches and have been flat on my backside for about two days. If you could keep me in your prayers though I know it will come out good. This weeks spiritual thought is on prayer. It seems so simple but yet it is truly fantastic. Simply by saying a prayer in our hearts or out loud we can communicate with the Alpha and Omega, The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, The Lord of Hosts, and our Heavenly Father. And throughout the scriptures we are told that whatsoever we ask we shall receive. So I am asking why don’t we ask more? 3rd Nephi 14:11 ” If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” I know that the Lord grants unto his children what ever they need to make it through this mortal existence all we have to do is ask. So just do it I recon is the best way to go about it. Love you all! Hope you have a fantastic week!

Lip Sync Doctrine

Hey! How are y’all? I hope that you had a fantastic week and that all of you were blessed beyond belief! Really not to much to report this week. Just pretty basic week nothing too out of the ordinary. We had transfers this week and I got to say its kinda strange not having a new companion or area. But I think that it will work out we are having fantastic success and Loving life. Elder Anderson from Ogden Utah is the new guy/district leader. He is a pretty chill guy fits in really well here and is super awesome. He has been out for one transfer longer than I have and I think this next transfer is going to be pretty cool. Then the next experience/ spiritual thought is this. We had on Friday a talent show that was super fun. Lots of talents in this branch out here and lots of awesome people. We as missionaries threw together a fun little skit. We did a lip sync to Our Humble way from Saturdays Warrior. It was fun to do and to watch. (it should be getting put on youtube some time so as soon as I get the link I’ll set yall up to watch it and i will probably put it on my blog as well) But THe spiritual thought for that is earlier that day in district meeting we watched a worldwide broadcast to missionaries. On that Elder Bednar was talking about the spirit and teaching by the spirit. In D&C 84: 85 says Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man. Those of you who know me know I cant carry a tune in a bucket with a lid on it, but I know songs like the back of my hand. All of us are called to be missionaries and to share the gospel of truth but sometimes we don’t know exactly what to say or how to express ourselves. The Lord says though if we treasure up the gospel in our minds then he will help us out just like with me and the lip sync the words just get put into our mouths and they sound good! To us and the people that are hearing them! Love all y’all and hope you have a superb week!

Life is a box of chocolates…..

Howdy hey everyone! This has been a fantastic week and at the end of this week a fantastic transfer. So much has happened and time has gone by way too fast for me to even want to think about! Missionaries only really have four days a week Monday (pday) Thursday(weekly planning) Friday (district mtg) and Sunday(church) the rest of it all really just blurs together in periods of teaching sleep walking and the mail coming. Then before you know it six weeks gone by and you are waiting anxiously all day to find out where in Oklahoma you are going to do the same with only with different people! Its fantastic Love it to death! This week has been really fantastic the Lord is blessing us in so many ways that it isn’t even funny! I love it here in Seminole and if the Lord would let me I would stay here my entire mission. The people here are fantastic this truly is the promise land! Interesting story this week is of Duck Hearts. Why? Because thats what was for dinner on Sunday. Good stuff mater! And now for a spiritual message. I love the movie Forest Gump for a lot of reasons but this week I was thinking about Forest and Bubba in the trenches and Bubba says in effect ” I lean on your back and you lean on mine and neither of us have to sleep with our head in the mud” That is a life lesson more than anything I can think of. If we support one another and have eachothers backs then none of us have to sleep in the filth of the world and we can all keep our heads clean. Love you all and hope that you have a fantastic week!

Chillin Like a Villan

Hey! How are you guys doing! This week has been a pretty fantastic week! Been super cold outside. Oklahoma bless its heart has no sense of whats supposed to happen when what kind of weather is happening. When the sun is out and There is no snow on the ground the high is not supposed to be 30 degrees in my opinion. But hey its a party! My birthday was pretty good just a regular day in the hood. I did get to miss most of district meeting taking another missionary to a doctors appointment and that was a really good present but besides that I got a pair of rocking suspenders and a wallet from an awesome family here the Riege folks they are a rocking missionary lovin backwoods town people who I just love the stuffin out of! Then this week we were going through our member lists and we go to visit a less active family. We have no idea who they are and apparently they were less active for a long time. But we get there and she tells us that she has been praying on if to come back to church or not and then we called her the next day. Now she is committed and a half! We are going to start trying to teach her non-member husband and get them to the temple to be joined for eternity! Love it the Lord is a miracle worker and I have never been happier This week I just wanted to leave you with the scripture Ether 10:28 And never could be a people more blessed than were they, and more prospered by the hand of the Lord. And they were in a land that was choice above all lands, for the Lord had spoken it. Seminole is truly the promised land and I am truly blessed to be here “…For the Lord HAS spoken it!” Love you all! If you have read this far please email and tell me your favorite food! I would love to hear from all y’all! Tell your friends The gospel is true the Book is blue! Have a great week!

Like Tamater Without The Ta

Hey y’all! Hope that you all had a very merry Christmas and that everything is going good for yall. This week has been pretty fantastic and we have been able to accomplish a lot.  miracles happen I can testify of that. This Thursday we were walking after trackting a neighborhood and we saw a couple walking and before we could start to walk over to them they call us over and just tell us how they want to learn about Jesus and grow closer as the family. We say Heck Yea! We went taught them a lesson and they both came to church Sunday (for the one hour that we had) and to a Baptism of a members little girl and everything was super powerful and they were really into it. We are hopin to commit them to baptism tonight and I can see good things coming of it. The Lord is at work here because while talking to them we found out that Tuesday night while biking to the apartment I had heard someone calling out but looking around I saw no one so I kept riding. We found out that It was the same people that saw us and wanted to talk. They were put back in our way and I am so grateful for that. I see good things. So besides that the weather has finally decided to act like winter and its been cold and snowy. Luckily we are only catching the edge of the storm. But I am definitely seeing a snowbattle of epic proportions in the near future. So today for the spiritual thought I have a strange thing that goes on where I sit back to rest at lunch or at night and scenes from Disney movies play in my head. Its weird I know but this week the Line from cars whee Mater is doing his backwards driving thing he says “I don’t need to know where I’m going only need to know where I’ve been.” I was thinking about that and all the scriptures that speak of remembering the captivity of the fathers and of the Lords blessings. I realized that as we look back and see everything that the Lord has blessed us with that we can look and not be scared of moving forward because the Lord has taken us this far he’s not going to just drop us now. I have seen this these past few months as I am nearing the halfway point in my mission, I was wanting to see how I changed and see where if any progress was made. And I’m telling you that as I have done that it has given me more confidence that the Lord is mindful because I have definitely came along way from 11 months ago when I first came out. I am grateful for that and at this new years time as you look back look for specific times that the Lord has blessed you and take the time to thank him for that. I love you and Hope you have a happy new year!

“And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said: here am I; send me.”
